MANUKAU AMATEUR CLUB.
Two road races were conducted by the Mar.ukau Amateur Cycling Club on Saturday. In the junior race of 5} miles. 15 competed and S. Sargent wou easily. The juniors finished as follows:—S. SargeDt, 3m, 1; A. H. Bowen, 3m.,2; H. Norm, 2m 15b. 3. Fastest time, 15m 455, was returned by C. T. Yule, 6cr. Eighteen seniors contested the 22 miles time trial, in which the gears to be used •were restricted to a maximum of 69in. Considering the small gears used good times wero returned. The six best times were:— J. H. Wade. 62m 27a, 1; J. Wbitten, 63m 14s. 2; D. Fletcher, 63m 28s. 3; H. Fi. D wight, 65m lis, 1; L. B. Roberts, Com 275, 5; F. J. Casey, GGm 555, 6. A scaled handicap, run in conjunction with the event, resulted aB follows:—D. Fletcher. 5m 30s, net time, 57m 58s, 1; J. H. Wade, 2m ss, net time, 60m 225, 2: K. A. Cleaver, 6m 10s, net time 60m 425, 3; H. Borland. 5m 20s, net time Clm 375; A... W. Mackrell, fim 20s, net time 61m 51s; L. B. Roberts, 2m 555, net time G2m 325. - THE AUCKLAND CLUB. A 19.4 miles race over three laps of the Mangero course, starting and finishing at the Mangere Bridge, was held by the Auckland Cycle Club on Saturday. 12 starting. Tho finish was extremely close. D. Storey scored a narrow win, crossing the line with only inches to spare. The placed riders were:— D. Storey. Jim 30s, 1; F. Lowndes. 4ni 30s, 2: W. Francis 4m. 3; L. Cr. Pinfold. 2m 30s, 4. S. Hayes, scr., finished lm 2s behind the winner and registered fastest time in 51m 525. beating J. Harcourt. ecr., of Hamilton, by a length.
