DEATH UNDER ANAESTHETIC

At the inquest concerning the death of the child Ngaio C'outts McGregor, who died under an anaesthetic while she was undergoing an operation, the coroner returned a verdict according to the medical evidence. He expressed the opinion that every care had been taken, that the operation was necessary, and that, the child was suffering from a tosic condition which could not have been discovered by the usual careful examination.
