ACTIVE CALL ON SATURDAY. Business transacted at the single call 011 the Auckland Stock Exchange on Saturday was unusually heavy for end-of-week trading. Gilt-edged securities were freely sought at lato rates, and tho coal, insurance and loan and agency sections attracted tho interest of investors.

In tho loan and agency section tho B proferenco issue of Norlh Auckland Farmers' Co-operatives again changed hands at 12s 6d. In gas Aucldands mado a further sale at 24s Id.

In tho miscellaneous section tho proferenco issue of Electrolytic Zincs sold at tho current Auckland price, 39s 6d. Farmers' Tradings continued tho upward movement commenced on Friday. Tho ordinary issuo sold at 9s, Is dearer than tho last sale a month ago, and buyers sought moro at 8s Bd, firming Id. Buyers of tho A preference issue advanced 3d to 16s 9d, no sellers. New Zealand Farmers' Fertilisers continued their easing tendency, having sale twico at 23s 6d, a drop of 3d. Northern Boot and Shoes were again dona at 12s 6d, and Wilsons Cements were unchanged by two sales at 44s 9d. In mining Ohinemuris wero dono at 10s 3d and 10s 2£d, maintaining their rccont appreciation.
