JURY DISAGREES.

TRIAL OF TAXI-DRIVER. The trial in the Supreme Court yesterday of Austin Walker, aged 22. taxidriver (Mr. Noble), charged with indecent exposure and assault upon young girls resulted in the jury failing to agree. There were two charges of indecent exposure, one of indecent assault and one of common assault. The girls concerned, whose ages ranged from eight years to 13 years, said that accused committed the offences in the garage at Avondale, where he kept his car. They lived at Avondale and attended school in the district. Tliev were asked by accused to. go into the'garage on their way home. The jury returned at nine o'clock in tho evening, having failed to agree after a retirement of over four hours. A retrial was ordered.
