DEPARTURE FOR SUVA.
GRATITUDE FOR HOSPITALITY

The German cruiser Emden left Wellington for Siivn shortly after len o'clock yesterday morning.' The cruiser left Clyde Quay \\ liarf at 6.30 and proceeded to Miramar where she took in oil fuel, leaving the harbour about four hours later.
There were many people at the filial point of departure and a great deal of enthusiasm was shown by those on shore and on the wharf.
His Excellency the Governor-General has received the following message from the commander of the Emden, Captain von Aruauld: "On our departure from Wellington and the Dominion of New Zealand I would like to tender to lour Excellency, on behalf of all the personnel of my ship, my deep gratitude for all the courtesy and hospitality exteuded by Your Excellency, and my humble request that litis may lie conveyed to all concerned. With highest regards and best wishes, to Your Excellency and to the Dominion."-
