CONTRACTORS' DISPUTE.
OTAHUHU WORKSHOPS CASE. COURT RESERVES DECISION. Tho case in which D. and J. Miller, Limited, plumbers, of Auckland (Mr. Northcroft), claim £2374 from the Hansford and Mills Construction Company, Limited, of Wellington (Mr. Watson and Mr. Shorland), in respect to a sub-con-tract for plumbing at the Otahuhu railway workshops, was concluded in the Supreme Court on Saturday, tho fourth day of hearing. Defendants made a counter-claim for £739. Tho principal item in dispute was £1350 for lead flash-
Continuing li'is evidence on Saturday, J. Dow, civil engineer of tho Railway Department, said there had been a dispute between tho department and Hansford and Mills, Limited. Mr. Northcroft suggested that witness had said flashing was not required on the. bottoms of tho side lights. Witness said he had changed his opinion after a closer examination of tho plans. F. E. Taylor, representative of a steel window manufacturing firm, said his employers had tendered for the Otahuhu workshop window sash work. Witness assumed from tho plans that Hashing would bo required. It had been supplied on similar plans for the Addington and Hillside workshops. After addresses by counsel, Mr. Justieo Kennedy reserved decision.
