BRIDGE CONTRACTOR'S DEATH
ADJOURNMENT OF INQUEST.
[bi* telegraph.—own correspondent.] TAIHAFE. Sunday.
An inquest was opened yesterday concerning the death of William Salt, bridge contractor, of Wanganui, who died in the Taihape Public Hospital or Friday from injuries received in a motor accident near Karioi.
Dr. 11. M. Hay said ho examined deceased immediately afte.r his admission to tho hospital, and found that ho was suffering from a fracture of the pelvis bone. He also had cuts on the upper lip and chin. He was not in a fit condition to bo interviewed. He had told witness that a motor-lorry had capsized and that ho had been pinned underneath. «ln the opinion of witness death was due to shock and heart failure, as the result of injuries. The inquest was adjourned to Ohakuno.
