PRESENTATIONS.
Fifty Thames business men and representatives of Hauraki Plains local bodies met at. Thames 011 Friday evening to farewell Mr. Adam Wilson at .1 dinner prior to his departure for Gisbornc, where lie ■will take up his duties as manager of that branch of the Bank of New Zealand. Messrs. Bongard and C. W. Harris eulogised Mr. Wilson's services to the community during his 10 years' residence at Thames a? manager of the local branch of tin; Bank of New Zealand, and presented him with a silver salver on behalf of those present. Earlier in the day Mr. Wilson was presented with a set of cut glassware on behalf of the staff of the Thames branch of the bank. The Tie v. A. .F. Sutherland, who has been minister of the Rangitaiki Presbyterian Church for the past four years, has accepted a call to I'altialua. At the week-end there was u crowded attendance in tlie public hall at Otakiri to bid farewell to the departing minister anil his wife. Refcrenco was made to the esteem in which thev were held throughout the district, and regret was? expressed at their leaving the district. On behalf of the members and adherents of (he Church Mr. CI. Murray presented Mr. Sutherland with a suitcase and a cheque. Presentations were also made to Mis. Sutherland by the ladies. A public farewell was tendered to Mr. W. A. Todd, who has been manager of the Opotiki branch of the Rank of New Zealand for the past nine years, and who has been transferred to Mast prion. Mr. G. S. Moody, Mayor of Opotiki, on bohalf of the residents, presented Mr. and ■ Mrs. Todd with a silver tea and coffee service, and Mr. Todd personally with a travelling rug. Eulogistic speeches were made by the Mayor and several others.
