A very successful bridge drive was given by the Auckland Ex-Service "Women's Association for their emergency fund this week at the Tower Tearooms. Mrs. A. C. Jacob convened the party and acted as hostess. A great number of guests were present, and a considerable sum was raised by means of this very enjoyable evening.

'lhc Birkenhead.and Nortlicote Orphans' Club held a cabaret dance in the Palai? Theatre at Northcote on Thursday evening. There was a large attendance. The president, Dr. J. W. The music was provided by Mr. Rex Sayer's orchestra, and special cabaret features were introduced.
