YOUNG MAN FOUND SHOT.

DISCOVERY BY MOTHER.

SEQUEL TO ALLEGED QUARREL

CARTERTON. Wednesday

A. youth of 18, Roy Chapman, son of Mrs. S. SNvan, was found shot early this morning in a stable 100 yards from his home.

The youth had been at a dance at Kopuaranga and it is said that lio had a "tiff" with a girl. It is reported that ho shook hands with his friends and intimated that they would not seo him again. lie then went homo and at 3 a.m. His mother and brother both heard a sfiot. They went to investigate and found the lad lying dead in the stable, with a shotgun alongside his body. He had evidently placed the gun in his mouth.
