WORK OF IMPROVEMENT,

At a meeting of the Hauraki Plains West Drainage Board the - foreman reported that owing to the wet weather it had not been possible to have slips removed from drains, but this work was now well in hand. The contractors had commenced work on Davidson's Outlet. All the other contract work was progressing satisfactorily The chairman, Mr. C. Parfitt, reported that it was desirable to pipe tlio roadsido drain near Waitakaruru to prevent the water mains sloping into the drain. It was decided to authorise this work and pay one-sixth of tlio cost, the balance to ba paid by the Hauraki Plains County Council.

Mr. Motion advocated improving tlio Ncatea-Pipiroa Road drains from _ near Andrews, on both sides, to the intersection of Davidson*s. Drain. I v agreed to call /tenders for this worK nrut for similar work on the south sid« at Pipiroa township drain. . • r.*
