MAIL SERVICE INSTITUTED

The first air mail service in China was instituted to-day when a flight from Shanghai to Nanking was successfully carried. out by Captain Henderson, formerly a member of the lloval Air Force.

Using a Stinson-Det roitcr machine, built to carry five passengers, Captain Henderson took off at noon with 4COII >. of mail matter. He reached Nanking shortly before 2 p.m. and returned to Shanghai this evening, bringing another mail. Four well-known British and American aviators are at Shanghai awaiting orders from the Nanking Government to commence regular operations.

The establishment of tho air mail service is the first of the many high-sound-ing schemes of the Nationalists to become a reality. It marks an important chapter in the history of China.
