PINNED UNDER LORRY.

DRIVER NEARLY SUFFOCATED

CAPSIZE IN SHINGLE

Tlie driver of a motor-lorry, Mr. E. Hunt, of New Plymouth, was almost suffocated when his lorry overturned yesterday on the Main South Road near Warca.

The lorry ran on to some shingle at the side of the road and capsized, pinning the driver underneath. The vehicle was carrying three tons of bagged slag, and it turned completely over, lying with the wheels in the air.

When help was obtained it required (lie united efforts of several men and the use of a long plank as a crowbar to extricate the unfortunate driver from his position under the lorry. Mr. Hunt was almost suffocated. The only other injury lie sustained was a strained arm. The cab of the lorry was smashed.
