The Opotiki Hospital Board at its last meeting considered the subject of amending the scale of operation fees and fees for X-ray graphs, and also general patient's' fees. It was resolved -to ascertain "the scale of fees charged by neighbouring hospital boards, with a view to lixing tliu fees it? uniformity A letter was received from the Nurses and Midwives' Registration Board, approving of tiio Opotiki Hospital as a "limited" training school tor nurses. It was also suggested that it would he necessary for the board to make arrangements with soitio full-time training school to take the board's nurses at the end of their 12 months' scrvico at Opotiki. It was decided to ask the Cook Hospital Hoard to take the Opotiki nurses for completion of their training.
The Director-General of Health wrote regarding the necessity for the proper storage of X-ray films, in view o[ the recent disaster at a hospital at Cleveland, Ohio, through the ignition of lilms. It was resolved that a special lead-lined receptacle be constructed for storing films. The chairman reported that a special shelter had been arranged for tuberculosis patients, but further additions were urgently required.
