BRITAIN AND EMPIRE.
FOREIGN POLICY MATTERS.
CONSULTATION MAINTAINED. British Wireless. RUGBY, July 7. Dr. Hugh Dalton, Under-Secretary fritForeign Affairs, in the course of his replyto tho debate on Britain's foreign policy in tho House of Commons on Friday evening laid emphasis on tho Government's intention of continuing to consult tho Governments of the Dominions on important questions of foreign policy. Dr. Dalton said ho had reason to believe the Government would ndl find it difficult to " advance four square " with the Dominions along the path of international peace, co-operation and constructive understanding. Referring to tho optional clause of tho Court of International Justice Dr. Dalton said the Government was pledged to sign it. Tho only question in doubt was bow soon it would bo able to do so and what reservations, if any, after consultation with tho Dominions, it would attach to its signatures.
