United Service. LONDON, July 8. At (ho North Foreland, on the northeast coast of Kent, a wireless message was intercepted from a Danish steamer, tho Annobere. at 10.55 p.m. yesterday saying "Observed a vessel sunk by an explosion about fivo miles south-west by south of Smith's Knoll light vessel. Wo are cruising around tho position. Nothing observed.
"Tho British minesweeper Selkirk has arrived at tho position of tho S.O.S. call to assist in the search."
A later message from tho Annoberg says the explosion of the unknown vessel took p'ace 25 mile? north of Yarmouth. The crews of lifeboats and other vessels, jtirludinc the Selkirk, searched without jesult. They only discovered pieces of wreckage. There is no trace of tho crew of tho ennkon ship nor any clue to her name. Yarmouth is on the north-west coast of the Isle ol Wight, situated on tho Solent.
