ARRIVAL AT KARACHI.
FURTHER ENGINE TROUBLE. Australian and N.Z Picph AfißOciation. KARACHI, July 4. The monoplane Southern Cross, with Squad roil-Leader Kingsford Smith, FlightLieutenant C. T. P. Ulm (co-pilots), Mr, 11. A. Litchfield (navigator) and Mr T. 11. McWilliams (wireless operator), arrived at Karachi from Allahabad at 4 p.m. to-day on their (light to England.
The airmen's bad luck continued on tho journey from Allahabad. Slight engine trouble occurred again and adjustments had to be made at Kanchi.

BAGDAD TO ROME
CROYDON POSSIBLY TUESDAY. (Received July 5. 11.55 p.ui.) SYDNEY, July 5. A cablegram was received in Sydney to-day from Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith stating that if the overhaul of tho engines of. the Southern Cross at Karachi is completed quickly the airmen will leave there to-day for Bagdad. It is now proposed to leave Bagdad at 9 a.m. on Sunday on a non-stop flight to Rome and to leave Rome at 6 a.m. on Tuesday for tho final 800 miles hop to Croydon.
Following are the details of the. flight of the Southern Cross to dato:— June 25—Loft Richmond, Sydney, for Derby, Western Australia, about 2100
miles. Juno 26—Arrived at Derby after flight
of 22 hours 5 minutes. June 27—Left Derby for Singapore, aliout
2020 miles. ' June 2&—Arrived at Singapore. June 29—Loft Singapore and landed at Singora, &iam, about 458 miles. Juno 30—Arrived at Rangoon, Burma, from Singora, about 690 miles. July 2—Left Rangoon and arrived at Calcutta, about 660 miles. July s—Flew from Calcutta to Allahabad, about 460 miles. July 4—Flew from Allahabad to Karachi, about 890 miles.
