HOME-MADE TRANSFERS.
A SIMPLE WAY. Ro many peoplo like to use their own embroidery designs, but thero are a number of materials on which it is possible to draw your own design and for which it is essential to uso a transfer. Here is a simple way of making your own trans fors.
Mix equal parts of castor sugar and ordinary household washing blue with hot- water until it is of the consistency of ink. Leave this to get cold and thou draw your design on tissue paper with u pen or fine paint brush
Allow this to dry and then iron on in the usual way This has the advantage of coming oul tho first time the garment in washed, so there is no fear of a delicate article being spoiled by the transfer showing marks round tho embroidery
