PERSONALITY.
Personality is a treasure, so is beauty. But I think if I were given the choice between a lovely face and an interesting personality, "I should choose the latter, says a writer. Beauty, after all, is finite, and at the samo time ephemeral; but personality grows with its possessor, and an old lady endowed with this valuable gift can exercise as much power at ninety as a young woman in all her glory of good looks. Naturo does often strike a balance by bestowing upon thoso who aro less gifted with physical attractiveness certain qualities of mind and heart which outweigh their outward deficiencies. Personality is a thing wo must delve for in our inner consciousness It cannot bo put on like a garment. All wo can acquire—if .we are thinking of acquisitions—is a pose; and a pose, however subtle and carefully studied, never succeeds in being anything but irritating.
