PAPATOETOE NEWS.
THE LITERARY SOCIETY. The Papatoetoe Literary and Debating Society opened its 31st session this week, when members staged a mock court, entitled "Trial by Jury." The "case" was a divorce one and much amusement was created. The cast was as follows: Judge. Mr. E. C. Franklin; registrar, Mr. F. M. Waters; crier, Mr. C. J. Mahon; counsel, Messrs. 11. Burton and J. M. Deas; petitioner, Miss L. Roseveare; respondent, Mr. C. Moore; witness, Mr. J. Firth.
