Of the 32 players who qualified for the match play stages of the 1000 guineas tournament for professionals at Moortown, Leeds, Hagen (America) was first with a score of 139 for the 36 holes. Kigen was followed by Diegel (America), Watrous (America), Compston, 144; Mitchell, 145; Duncan, E. Wliitcombe, 146. Other scores were:— Jurado (Argentine), C. Wliitcombe, Boomer, 148; Havers, 150; Horton Smith (America), 152.
