MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.
The Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of Lands and Agriculture, left Mercer yesterday to begin the Hauraki Plains portion of his South Auckland tour. He stayed at Kerepeehi last evening, and to-day he will visit Turua, the Orongo settlement, and Thames, leaving later for Coromandel, where the evening will be spent. The Minister had hoped to visit the Whakatane district next month, but it is probable he will have to postpone * that tour until after the Parliamentary session, when he will also tour extensively in North Auckand.
The Hon. J. B. Donald, Postmaster* General, will be in Auckland until the end of the week, but his itinerary for next week lias not yet been announced. The Minister visited the St. Joseph's Home for the Aged Poor at Ponsonby on Wednesday. The Hon. J. G. Cobbe, Minister of Industries and Commerce, attended the luncheon of the Auckland Manufacturers' Association yesterday, arid dealt with private departmental business. Mr. -Cobbe will leave for Hamilton this morning, and will join the south-bound limited iexpress at Frankton this evening. It is possible the Minister will return to Hamilton to open the Waikato Winter Show on May 28. > -
The Hon. W. B. Taverner, Minister of Railways, who is in the Rotorua district, is expected to arrive in Auckland next Monday, but it is possible he may postpone his visit to coincide with that of the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, early next month. The Hon. H. Atmore, Minister of Education* is due in Auckland about May 27, but it is possible he will postpone his visit, the second since his elevation to Cabinet rank, until the time of the Primo Minister's visit a week later.
