FAREWELL CARD EVENING.
A card evening was held by the members or the Dominion Road Bowling Club and their friends in the pavilion 011 Saturday, the occasion being a farewell evening to Mrs. W. Stephenson, who is leaving Auckland for Rotorua shortly. For the first half of the evening 500 was played, the winners being Mrs. Guthrie and Mr. Richardson. Musical items were given by Mrs. Thompson, Miss Dawson, Mr. Sessions, Mr. Clews, Mrs. Hawkcn, Mr. Spiers and Mr. Kelly. Supper was served by the ladies, after which Mr. Kelly, president ot the Bowling Club, asked Mrs. Stephenson to accept, on behalf of tho bowlers, a caso oE fish knives and forks and a case of spoons.
Mr. Kelly expressed tho regret that was felt that Mrs. Stephenson was leaving Auckland, as she had been a very active member of tho bowlers' ladies' committee. Mr. Stephenson, on behalf of his wife, thanked tho bowlers for their gift, and wished the club every success in tho future. The remainder of the evenintr was spent in dancing, and concluded villi the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and "God Save tho King."
