RETIRING PENSIONS.

ALLOWANCES BY BOARD. FURTHER £IO,OOO A YEAR. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Friday. The Public Service Superannuation Board met yesterday, Mr. J. W. Macdonald presiding. Thirty-six contributors who had retired by reason of age or length of service were granted allowances of a total of £8493 a year, and five contributors who had retired as medically unfit were granted allowances totalling £839 a year. In two eases consideration was postponed, and one application for an additional allowance on account of retirement through injuries received .while on police duty was declined. „ Twelve widows and 12 children were granted the statutory allowances, amounting to £684 a year.
