OUR COLOURFUL BEDROOMS.
LUXURIOUS FANCIES. Colour in the bedroom is usually confined to the curtains, carpet, cushions, and the satin or silk bedspread, generously and often hideously trimmed with gold braid or lace and tassels. Occasionally, I have hinted at the fancy, shown by some housewives of affluent circumstances, who have indulged in silken sheets of delicate hue, and recently I read of the latest in Paris where the shops are showing coloured linen for beds in sets of sheets and pillow slips, 'writes a lady overseas. Crepe de chine is also included, and the colours for both materials adhere to the delicate shades, like pink and maize colour. Drawn thread work. is shown on the hems, .with the addition of applique embroidery and monograms. The charm about these sets is that they are guaranteed to stand boiling.
