SHANGHAI FATALITY.
NEW ZEALANDER'S FATE.
ACCIDENT ON A STEAMER. (Received May 9. 10 .55 p.m.) United Service. SHANGHAI, May 9. Mr. E. Kakle, of New Zealand, an engineer on tho steamer Carnarvonshire, was killed this morning. 110 was inspecting tho boilers when a slop-valvo blew cut, filling the engineroom with steam. Tho steam did not clear for an hour and then Mr. Kakle's body was found on top of a boiler. It is believed that his death was instantaneous.
