LARGE FALL OF EARTH.

SLIP STOPS ALL TRAFFIC

[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN" CORRESPONDENT. ] DAKGAVILLE, Thursday. A large slip, estimated to contain 2000 cubic yards of earth, mullock, boulders and logs camo down on the ManiaranuiAwakino Valley Road early this morning. The slip was noticed yesterday, when it was in small dimensions, but to-day it had completely blocked the road. Tho county engineer, Mr. S. L, Spanhake, soon got to work and put on a number of drays and men. who expect to have a temporary track open to-morrow.

Tho slip, however, is of such large dimensions that it will be about a, fortnight before tho road can bo restored to its old condition and made safe for all traffic. The slip is 2| chains long and one chain wide.
