[Bsf TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION". J WAIROA, Thursday.

The tragic accident on the Tuai coif links, in which Valentine William Neville Green, aged 14 years, was killed, was investigated at the inquest held to-day.

The evidence showed that Mrs. McGarry borrowed a new golf club from a schoolboy who was passing and practised hitting. After several hits she swung the club —a midiron —back, not knowing the deceased was standing behind. The first she knew of the accident was when Green exclaimed, "You've knocked mo out."

The boy then walked a few paces, gasped and sank to the ground. He died immediately. Deceased was hit on an artery on the left side of the neck.

A verdict of accidental death was returned, no blame being attachable to Mrs. McGarry, with whom tho coroner and jury expressed sympathy. They also extended sympathy to tho parents of tho deceased.
