CHOICE OF DEPUTY-MAYOR
MR. ENTRICAN RE-ELECTED
LIST OF THE COMMITTEES
Tho appointment of tho deputy-mayor and committees was made at the meeting of the Auckland City Council last evening.
Mr. A. J. Entncan was rc-elocted deputy-mayor on tho motion of the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon. Tho Mayor briefly congratulated him, and Mr. Entncan thanked the council for tho com pliment it had paid him.
The committees for the ensuing two years were appointed without, discussion, upon the motion of the Mayor, Mr. G. Baildon. Now chairmen wore required for the Water, Parks and Town planning Committees iu place of Messrs. J. A. C. Allum, G. Knight and S. I. Crookcs respectively, who are no longer members of the council. The list was as follows: Finance. —The chairmen of the other committees. Legal and By-laws. —Messrs. Ashley (chairman), Brownleo, Murray, Hutchison, Irvine and Lundon. Works.—Messrs. Dempsey (chairman), Bagnallj Bloodworth, Burton, Casey and Campbell. Parks and Reserves.—Mr. L'aterson (chairman), Miss Hasten, Messrs. Bartram, Coyle, Donald and Phela.ii. Water.—Messrs. Entrican (chairman), Ashley, Brownlee, Coyle, Hutchison and Phelan. Markets and Stores. —Messrs. Bennett (chairman), Campbell, Casey, Donald, Irvine and Paterson. Library.—Miss Melville (chairman), Miss Basten, Messrs. Bngnall, Burton and Lundon, with Professor H. W. Segar and Mr. J. Kenderdine. Town-planning.—Mr. Bloodworth (chairman), Miss Melville, Messrs. Dempsey, Hutchison and Murray, with Professor C. R. Knight and Messrs. W. J. II olds worth and C. K. Grierson. Messrs. Bartram, Bennett and Murray were appointed to the committee of the Leys Institute. Messrs. A. .1. Entrican, E. Phelan and G. Brownleo were appointed to the council of the Auckland Institute and M iiscurn.
