CHANGE NOT PROPOSED. DECISION OF COMMITTEE. United Service. LONDON, April 30. The Daily News says tho Rules of Golf Committee jf th. Koyal aud Ancient Club has sent a cabled messages to the United States Golf Association, staling that after experiments with tho larger arid lighter Ball, with a diameter of I.ob inches and weighing 1.*55 ounces, it has decided that the advantages of the change aro .no commensuralo with the resulting disturbances to tho conditions of play and the manufacture of balls, and it does not propose to ask the Royal and Ancient Cfub to sanction tho change. The rules ot golf say:—The' weight of tho ball shall bo not greater than 1.62 ounces avoirdupois, and the size not less j than 1.62 inches in diameter.
