STRANDED AEROPLANE.
MYSTERY OF KOOKABURRA.
NO NEWS FROM LAND PARTY.
RETURNING TO WAVE HILL.
SYDNEY, May 1. A message from Wave Hill states that no news has yet been received from the land party at the stranded aeroplane Kookaburra. However, as the party has been seen returning to Wave Hill, it is assumed that the body of the late Lieutenant Keith Anderson's mechanic, Mr. R. S. Hitchcock, has been found. Lieutenant Eaton, apparently, cannot communicate with the aviators who acted as guides concerning the land party's discoveries owing to the unsuitability of the country for aeroplanes to land.
It is also assumed that it has been found impossible to fly the Kookaburra back to civilisation as it was Lieutenant Eaton's intention to do. It is considered unlikely that there will bo any news as to the land party's discoveries until it reaches Wave Hill in a few days, unless in the meantime a suitablo landing-place is located for Flying-Officer Ryan's machine to descend and intercept the land party.
