BUILDING SUSPENDED.
DEADLOCK INI MELBOURNE.
THOUSANDS NOW UNEMPLOYED. MELBOURNE, May 1. Six thousand more men are now idle as a result of the timber workers' strike, irrespective of the timber workers themselves. The employers have closed down all works and building is absolutely at a standstill.
Efforts are being made to settle the dispute in the timber industry and building trade at a conference.
