HOSPITALS OF LONDON.
LATE LORD REVELSTOKE. Australian Press Association—United Service LONDON. April 30. Tho late Lord Eevelstoke, tho head of the British delegates to the reparation conference in Paris, who died there recently, bequeathed £IOO,OOO to King Edward's Hospital Fund for London.
King Edward's Hospital Fund for London was inaugurated in 1897, the diamond jubilee year of Queen Victoria's reign, to seek more efficient support for the hospitals and so commemorate the 60th anniversary of her accession to the throne. The fund not only collects money for the voluntary hospitals, but promotes efficiency by its annual grants, and it seeks to arouse interest in the hospitals generally. In 1927 the income was £352,341 and the grants, £281,500; in 1928 it distributed £247.000 among 140 hospitals. Tho funds in hand, including gifts to capital, are over £3,594,000. Tho Prince of Wales is president of the fund.
