INJURY TO CHILD.
NO ACCIDENT AT SCHOOL. A statement made at the annual meeting of householders at the Mount Albert school by Mr. Forbes Eadio that his lil-tlo girl had fallen against the fire-guard in a classroom while the teacher was absent, sustaining a fracture of tho skull, was refuted by the headmaster in a letter received by (lie Auckland Education Board yesterday. The headmaster stated there had been no accident at the school as far as he was aware. Tho teacher 111 charge of the class observed nothing wrong, nor was any accident, reported to her. She did not leave the room without getting another teacher to take the class. When questioned later about an accident, none of the children reported that they had seen anything wrong. Two pupils had stated that after school they had gone with the little girl to the recreation ground in Malvern Road, where the child had fallen off the merry-go-round, striking her head. "That seems to bo a satisfactory explanation," said the chairman, Mr. A. Burns. "Nobody seems to be at fault."
