WEDDINGS.

LEL AN D—HE W SON. Miss Joyce Olga Hewson, only daughter of Mrs. A. E. and the late Mr. C. R. Hewson, of Ocean. View Road, Milford, was married to Mr. W. Leland, youngest son of Mrs. E. and the lato Mr. Leland, of Ohakune, at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Khyber Pass, last evening. The Rev. Gordon Bell officiated. The bride entered the church with her brother, Mr. Raymond Hewson, wearing a frock of cream embossed georgette cut on simple lines with the long tight-fitting bodice slightly swathed at the hips and caught at one side with a posy of orange blossom. The skirt, which was ankle length, fell in pointed draperies at each side and a coronel 1 , of orange blossom with side clusters held in place the Brussels net veil which formed an oval-shaped train. A shower bouquet of white flowers was carried. The matron of honour was Mrs. Regan, who wore apricot georgette. The bodice was hemstitched diagonally with ribboned flutes of the same shade which were continued from the waist line to the uneven hem. She wore a hat of toning felt and carried flowers of autumn tints. Miss Eileen Conway was bridesmaid. Her frock was of almond green georgette with pale pink reliefs. The skirt showed the uneven hemline bordered with satin. The green felt hat was finished with velvet ribbons and a trail of flowers fell from one side to the shoulder. The two little train-bearers were Lorna Regan and Gwen Mac Donald. They wore Kate Greenaway frocks'in pink and blue taffeta respectively. The poke bonnets were of crinoline straw and they carried tulle muffs edged with rosebud trimming. Mr. Eric Bell was best man .and Mr. H. Moran groomsman. MORGAN—EAVES. The marriage of Miss Marjorio Edith Eaves, eldest daughter of Mrs. and the lato Mr. Herbert Eaves, of Chester Street, Mount Eden, to Mr. Victor Trezise Morgan, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Morgan, »f Heme Bay, was celebrated at St. Barnabas' Church, Mount Eden, last evening. The Rev. E. E. Bam ford officiated. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr, J. W. Eaves, wore a frock of ivory georgette mounted over white satin. The skirt fell in long pointed draperies and from one shoulder to, the back of. tho waistline fell streamers of silver ribbon held in place with a large cluster of orange blossom. Her veil of Brussels laco formed a short train and was caught to the head with a double wreath of orango blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. In attendance as bnapsmaids were Miss Nellie Eaves and Miss Winifred Eaves, tho bride's sister:*. They wore frocks of bronze green and cinder rose georgette respectively. with scalloped hems outlined with circlets of gold lace and niched taffeta. Their tulle head-dresses were edged with pink and silver buds and they carried bouquets td tone with their frocks. Mr. Russel Preston attended the bridefroom as best man and Mr. Stanley G'eek was groomsman. Mrs. Eaves, mother ' of tho bride, wore a navy bengaline frock with a tiered skirt and a, navy blue silk hat trimmed with an osprey. Mrs. Morgan, the bridegroom's mother, wore a navy bluo crepe do chine frock with a toque in toning shades. SMITH—WHITE. An interesting wedding was celebrated in the Howick Presbyterian Church on Tuesday between Miss Doris Marion White, only daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. Alex. White, of Howick, and Mr. Hugh Rodger Smith, only son of Mrs. Smith, of Thornton, Whakatane, and tho late Mr. J. Smith, of Girvan, Scotland. The church was decorated for the occasion by friends of the bride, and the Rev. D. Mclntyre performed the ceremony, appropriate music being played by Mr. Arthur Dicks, cousin of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory chenille-embossed georgette over shell pink satin, the flared skirt was attached to a wide girdle with a large bow of shell pink tulle streamers falling below the hemline. Her veil of Brussels net,> which also formed a train, was arranged with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried a shower bouquet of cream and pink chrysanthemums.* Miss Dorothy White, the bride's cousin, attended as bridesmaid, and wore a frock of turquoise blue crepe de chine with tiered skirt and large shoulder bow. Her headdress of silver and turquoise blue tulle was finished with pale pink and blue flowers, and she carried a bouquet of pink chrysanthemums. Little Jean Dicks, in a frock of apricot crepe de chine trimmed with tiny frills and wearing a cap of silver and tulle to tone, was train-bearer. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Nelson Wood as best man. WATERS-NICHOLSON. The wedding was celebrated on Wednesday, in St. Andrew's Church, To Awamutu, of Miss Phyllis Nicholson, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Nicholson, of Frontier Road, Te Awamutu, to Mr. Frederick Waters, fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Waters, of Ward, Marlborough. The Rev. W. Butterworth performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of pink embossed chenille georgette caught at the waist with hand-made pink and gold roses. Tho scalloped train of gold tissue, which was caught to the shoulders with roses, was lined with pink shirred georgette finished with true lovers' knots and horseshoes. There were four bridesmaids. Miss Daphne Noonan wore a frock of pale green taffeta with cherry hem, and panel of multi-coloured flowers; Miss Muriel Marwood, cousin of tho bride, was in cyclamen taffeta, with hem of blue and pipings of different colours; Miss Huia Stewart, another cousin, blue crepe do chine, tho bodice pip-tucked and the skirt made of tiny frills; and Miss Eva Smallfield, peach crepe de chine, made on similar lines to that of Miss Stewart. Master B. McDonald, wearing a pink satin suit, with gold lace cuffs and collar, was page boy. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. K. Jones and Mr. S. Mayes, of Hamilton. COVERDALE—ELLICOTT. A wedding of much interest in the Waikato took place in St. Peter's Cathedral on Tuesday evening, when Miss Elsie Drayton Ellicott, eldest daughter of Mrs. and the lato Mr. Ellicott, of Hamilton, was married to Mr. Oswald Miles Coverdale, second son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Coverdale, of Te Kawa. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Bishop of Waikato. The bride was given away by Mr. J. A. Young, and wore a sheath-like frock of ivory satin appliqued in silver roses. Loug vaudyked panels nearly reached the ground. Iler veil of Brussels net, a gift from on aunt in England, fell from a Juliet cap of orange blossom and pearls, and she carried a sheaf bouquet. The bride was attended by a matron of honour, Mrs. Esmonde Napier, of Auckland, who wore a frock of rose dawn cire lace and georgette, with uneven hemline and.large bow of velvet of the same shade. A pale pink Bangkok straw hat and bouquet to tone completed the toilette. Tho bridegroom was attended by his brother, Dr. Howard Coverdale. . The wedding march was played by the organist, Mr. S. B. Sims. After the ceremony the guests were entertained by the bride's mother at a reception' held at the Wattle Tea Rooms, which were decorated with chrysanthemums,» a white wedding bell having been suspended from tho ceiling. Mrs. Ellicott received in a frock of tobacco brown satin beaute with slashings of orange, and a hat to tone. Sirs. I T. Coverdale wore an ensemble of grey

and hat to match. The bride's going aWay costume was a black tailored spit with white waistcoat and. hat of black. She also wore a grey fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom. The wedding took place at the Auckland Baptist Tabernacle on Tuesday evening of Miss Catherine Campbell McGregor, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David McGregor, of Ponsonby, to Mr. Alan Monteith Doull, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Monteith Doull, of Richmond, Grey Lynn. The Rev. R. Harries, of St. James' Church, performed the ceremony and the bridal music was played by Mr. Arthur E. Wilson. The brido, who was given away by Mr. W. Tanner, wore a frock of white satin beaute and silver lace, ornamented with pearls and finished at the back with a large tulle bow inset with clusters of orange blossoms. The heavily embroidered veil, which formed a train, was ornamented with orange blossoms at tho end and she carried a bouquet of white dahlias and roses. The bridesmaid was Miss S. McGregor, sister of the bride, who wore a frock of pink taffeta, French tucked all over and a head-dress to tono which slanted to the left shoulder. Her bouquet was of pink dahlias and roses. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Ralph W. Chappell, and acting as ushers were Mr. S. Stuart and Mr. A. Doull. The church had been very charmingly decorated with hanging baskets of fern aad with pink and_ white chrysanthemums, etc. Following the ceremony a reception was held at tho Farmers' tearooms. Mrs. McGregor wore a frock of beaded black satin and a black hat to match. Her bouquet was of . rerl dahlias. Mrs. H. M. Doull was in a striped pink crepe de chine frock under a grey coat and hat to tone. She carried a bpuquet of pink dahlias and fern. Mrs. W. Tanner wore powder blue georgette with a lace overdress and blue hat.
