EXCHANGE OF LETTERS.

SCHOOL CHILDREN'S IDEAS, ENGLAND AND NEW ZEALAND* [from our own correspondent.} LONDON, March 19. Some 4000 letters written by children in New Zealand have bean sent by parcel post to the Bolton Education Committee* This is in accordance with the- School Children's Empire Reciprocal Publicity Scheme. The letters have been classified according to standards, and will bo fenb out, roughly in proportion to the number oJ; scholars in Bolton's 60 schools. The letters are written on a form sup , plied by the organisers, and their con-> tents are, generally, descriptive of New Zealand products firstly. Then follows .some information on school life in New Zealand. Most of them show a patriotic pride in their country, and in., some of the letters are enclosed newspaper , cuttings and illustrations from periodicals •which are likely to interest tho Bolton children. The Bolton children will: reply on foolscap, and, though the task will be done in their own time, they will- probably be given some general instruction imd guidance. With the approach of Civic Week, ideas '"will naturally suggest themselves to the Bolton' children; the jitory of the town's importance, ite industries, its commercial activities, will ba before them continually. ■;
