TERM HOLIDAYS.
PRIMARY SCHOOL DATES.
EXCURSION FARES ON TRAINS. The primary schools in the Auckland province will close for the first term holidays on Friday, May 10, and will resume on Monday, May 27. For the benefit of parents who desire to travel with their children during the vacation the Railways Department has arranged - for the issue of excursion fares, repeating the innovation which was tried last year with success.
Holiday excursion tickets will be available from Thursday, May 9, until Saturday, May 18, inclusive, while the tickets will be available for return until June 15. The excursion fares will be in operation between all main lino stations in both islands. Pupils desiring to travel will not require certificates unless they desire to leave before May 9 or after May 18. In their case the return ticket will be available for a month from the date of issue. In addition to the parents of children on holiday the reduced rates are an advantage to many members of the farming community, who are unable to take a holiday until the approach of winter.
