VITAL STATISTICS.
RETURNS FOR AUCKLAND. FEWER MARRIAGES IN APRIL. The popularity of Easter marriages in March resulted in a reactionary fall in tho number of marriages in April. Marriago notices issued totalled 167, compared with 226 in March. There was an increase of two in the number of births compared with March, but a decrease of 14 on April, 1928. The figures for tho foir mouth's show a decrease of 88 for 1929. Deaths show an increase of 20 on last month and also April, 19§8, but tho totals for tho first four months is 39 less than for the corresponding period of last year.
