BAPTISMAL FONT.
ST. MATTHEW'S MEMORIAL. A memorial baptismal font of beautiful design will bo consecrated by Archbishop Averill at tlio morning scrvico in ' St, Matthew's Church next Sunday morning. The font will perpetuate the memory of tho late Mr. J. W. Leigh, who was associated with the church for about 20 years, and who left a sum of money for tho provision of such a memorial.
The font, which has been designed and carved by Mr.-J. W. Andrews; of Herno Bay, is of Derbyshire alabaster of remarkable colouring, and is said to be one of the most strikingly beautiful in New Zealand and comparable with tho more noted fonts ot English cathedrals. The font has been installed by Messrs. W. Parkinson and Company. Immediately after the consecration, threo babies whose grandparents have long associations with the church, will be baptisod.
