MURDER OHF ENGLISHWOMAN
LONG CHASE BY POLICE. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. BERLIN. April 29. A message from Strasbourg says the discovery in a wood of the murdered body of an English teacher, Miss Eva Brand, led to tho disclosure of a remarkable story
A young blacksmith, Charles Bentz, has, it is alleged, confessed that after he had had an English lesson from Miss Brand he followed her into tho woods and strangled liei;. He took her valuables and went to his sweetheart's house, confessed his crime, and tied.
Soon after a young woman saw Bentz lianging from a tree. She cut him down and he recovered. The police overtook Bent? on tho bank of a river, but he swam across the stream. He discarded his clothes as he resumed his flight, but was captured after a long pursuit
