GERMANY AND ALLIES.
PAYMENT OF REPARATION. NEW OFFER THOUGHT LIKELY. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received April ?!0, 7.45 p.m.) BERLIN, April 30. Dr. Scha'cht, president of the Reichstag, nnd chief German delegate to the conference of the Committee of Experts on Reparation at Paris, is on a visit to Berlin. There was no meeting of the Cabinet at the week-end. Dr. Schachfc merely holding' conferences with individual Ministers. It is assumed, therefore, that Germany's official attitude toward reparation iis not changed. Official opinion is that. 1 here is little hope of an eleventh hour agreement. v
However, the public expects Dr. Schacht to return to Paris with a reparation, offer ■vyhich will be more satisfactory to the Allies and which will at any rate permit of the reopening of negotiations.
