MATAMATA ANGLICANS.

In connection with the election of two synodsmen to represent the parish of All Saints', Matamata, on the Waikato Diocesan Synod the vicar, Rev. C. W. Turner, emphasised the great responsibilities of the office. The meeting unanimously elected Messrs. G. G. Bell and T. 11. Pi'owse. Other officers appointed were:—Vicar's warden, Mr. T. H. Prowse; people's warden, Mr. Cranswick; vestry, Messrs. Carter, Morris, Halligan, Bell, Wrigley, Simpson, Duxficld, jun,, Calhighan, Prowse, Caitchcon and Mrs. SimpsonDuring the evening Mr. W. C. Garland, Okymia, who has been a lay-reader for 13 years, and who leaves this week with his wife to reside in Auckland, was presented with a fountain pen.
