METHODIST CITY MISSION.
NEW WORKER WELCOMED.
A welcome to the Rev. Leonard Horwood, assistant Methodist city missioner, was held in the Town Hall concert chamber last evening. The Rev. E. Drake, district chairman, in welcoming Mr. Horwood, said the appointment had been made possible by a number of the Methodist Church, who, believing that the main purpose of the mission should be to help tho poor and needy, and realising that the Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour needed assistance, had come forward with the offer to find the living in connection with Mr. Horwood's appointment. It would now be possible for the mission to do perhaps even greater good than that already done. A hearty welcome was extended to Mr. Horwood, who expressed appreciation of the welcome.
Tho following contributed to a successful programme Miss Hewson, Miss Berry, Miss Moselen, Miss Eeta McCullay, the Rev. Mitchell, the Rev. E. T. Olds, Mr. Chas. Valentine, Mr. D. Corringham, Mr. Reginald Smith, Mr. Bert Watson, and Mr. Neville Carlsen.
