THE FARMERS' UNION.
NEW WOMEN'S DIVISION. FORMATION AT WAIHI. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WAIHI, Monday. The formation at Waihi of a women's division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was advocated by Mrs. Poison, wife of Mr. W. J. Poison, M.P. for Stratford, and president of the Farmers' Union, in an address to a meeting of farmers' wives. Mrs. Poison said that only by tho co-operation of the two sections could the success of tho union be fully achieved. Tho proposal found favour, and 16 names were handed in for membership. Officers wero elected as follows: President, Mrs. G. Angle; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames A. H. Blackmore and J. Hughes; lion, secretary, Miss S. Torrens; boil, treasurer, Mrs. H. Thompson. Tho remainder were nominated as the committee, with power to add to their number.
