GOLF RECORDS SMASHED.
FIJI PLAYER'S ACHIEVEMENT. TO COMPETE IN AUCKLAND. [from our own correspondent.] SUVA, April 18. Hollins Crompton, playing on the Suva golf during tho week-end, smashed all previous records for the course, most of which were held by himself when, over 18 holes, he secured seven "birdies," one of which was an "eagle." Only once was ho over bogey, his ball then just trickling out of bounds. Tho course is a nine-holes one, and his scoro cards read: — First Round. —4, 3, 6, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 4 34. Second Round.—3, 3, 4, 3, 4, 3, 3, 4, 4 —3l. Bogey.—s, 3, 5, 4, 4, 4, 3, 4, 4—3b. Crompton, who is tho son of one of Fiji's leading lawyers and a member of the firm, states that ho intends competing in Auckland competitions and later entering for the New Zealand championship.
