PIGEON FLYING.
THE NORTH SHORE CLUB. The North Shore Pigeon Flying Club held a young bird championship race from Palmerston North, a distance of 260 miles, for tho club's challenge trophy for first place, and Messrs. Buchanan Bros.' trophy for second place. The former was won by Mr. K. Oliver with his b c ii Glidaway, and the latter by Mr. H. E. Crowhurst, with his velvet hen Endurance. A total of 29 birds, representing seven lofts, competed. Owing to boisterous winds and heavy rain, with bad visibility, only six birds arrived home in race time. Results:— H. Oliver's b c.h Glidaway, 710 yds per mill. 1; H. E. C'rowhurst's v h Endurance, 708 yds, 2; Buchanan Bros.' b c h Star Lady, 705 yds, a. MA NUN LI CLUB'S, EVENT. [by TELEGRAPH.—own correspondent.] TAUMARUNUI, Monday. The Manunui Homing Pigeon Club continued its programme 011 Saturday with a race from Palmerston North. The race was flown under the conditions of the NewZealand Homing Pigeon Federation. . Results were:--D. Wilson's Ceremony. 1118.57 yds per mill., 1: R. Patterson's Flamingo, 1118.8 yds. 2; .T. Wliittaker's Limerick, it 17.7 yds, 3: 1). Andrews' Eaglet, 1115.1 yds; J. Langwell's The Abbey, 1113.1 yds.
