TWO HOTELKEEPERS FINED. " NOT TRUE TO LABEL." | r,V TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON NORTH, Monday. Charged with exposing for sale liquor which was not true to label, S. W. Evans, hotelkeeper, was to-day fined £25 on one charge relating to gin, and £SO on a second charge relating to whisky. Counsel for defendant said the gin contained one per cent, more alcohol than tho limit. The other gin was probably mixed accidentally. Tho whisky was overproof and some employee probably filled a labelled bottle with draught whisky. Mary Stonehouse, on a charge relating to gin not being true to label, was fined £25. Counsel said that some employee probably had taken an unauthorised " nip" and filled the bottle with soda, thus accounting for the acidify in tho gin.
