POLAR SLEDGE DOGS.
USE IN NEW ZEALAND.
MATTER BEING CONSIDERED.
[BY TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. 1 WELLINGTON, Sunday. The future of the dogs of the Byrd Antarctic expedition, which are quarantined on Quail Island, and which 'it is desired to bring to the mainland for work on the Tasman Glacier, is still unsettled. The proposal is being very carefully considered prior to a decision being piven by the Government. Mr. Innis Taylor, representing Commander Byrd, is in Wellington for the purpose of negotiating for the release of the sledge teams, and the Prime Minister is in direct touch with C&nmander Byrd through the medium of :,hort-\vave wireless.
