MOTOR SPEED RECORD.
CAMPBELL AGAIN FAILS.
TRACK NOT SMOOTH ENOUGH
Australian and N.Z. Press Association. CAPETOWN, April 26.
After making a further attempt to beat the motor speed record, Captain Malcolm Campbell said he was confident that if tlio track at Vcrneuk Pan had been better he would have beaten Sir Henry Segrave's record. The fact that his car leaped 50ft. or 40ft. interfered with the running times, and consequently his speed was lower than on' his previous attempt.
