Saturday. Oriflamb was responsible for tin at tractive performance when he won the Hurd'e Race. He appears to be outliving his reputation as a horse who reserved his cood work for the tracks, as he has raced very solidly of late. Amorist went weil for a mile and a-quarter. but he cannot stay. This is a pity as he is a good jumper. Aberfeldy ran much below expectations. Not only was ho outpaced, but his iumping was not good. Great Star outclassed the opposition tn the Sea down Hack Handicap. He will v,-m bit: open races next season, as he is a brilliant sprinter. The Bailiff ran a very fair race to get second, coining on with a strong run at the. finish. This G. B. Slarky Memorial Handicap was a great race between two horses who were together over the last five furlongs. Buoyant had a slight advantage when the straight was reached, and he just, stalled off the final rash of Prickles, who failed by a short head to catch him on the post. Buoyant has improved out of knowledge in stamina since the spring. Prickles will pay to foilow from now on. Gay Sonnet was a disappointment as she showed no dash. Amor showed up for nearly a mile and then faded out. He might do better if nursed for a late ran. Solgele won the Novice Stakes in brilliant fashion, being in front all the way. Bonrose was catching him at the finish, hut Solgele is smart up to five furlings. He has won this race three years in succession, and his record is an argument- for confining the race to horses that have never won a stake of any kind. Arrowmir was hacked very confidently in the Amberley Handicap, but after being one of the leaders all the way he failed in the last few stride®. It looked as if he was unlucky. Winsome Boy helped the favourite to set a strong pace, and he finished on solidly. He headed Arrowmir a couple of strides from the post, but only stalled Paper Boy off by a head. Winsome B(»y is not nearly at bis limit yet. Honeycomb won the Glasnevin Handicap like a good horse.' He was in the middle of the field early, but when he put in his claim he settled the opposition in a few strides. This imported horse will pay to follow now. Ripdale. who finished second, has done very little work and he appears to be a useful sort. Impertinence, the favourite. had every chance, but sho faded out in disappointing fashion in the straight.
